My CV,

I’m Daud Abdi Daud Dimbil who is prominent Somali journalist by profession and was born in 1982 in Mogadishu, Somalia. When he was graduated from high school namedly Mogadishu Boarding School based in Mogadishu, Somalia in 2000, I started to work as journalist because it was my hoppy and created my own newspaper called Daryeel in the end of 2000 till 2007. During my work periods I was the deputy director of radio Abudwaak based in Cabudwak district in Galgaduud region and I was also worked for radio Shabelle and Hornafric radio stations based in Mogadishu as correspondent in 2004-2007 in Galgaduud region of Central Somali regions. I played a vital role in the journalism field and my other work experiences are; I was the founder as well as first executive director of the Somali Journalist Rights Agency (SOJRA), co-founder of the National Association of Somali Science and Environmental Journalists (NASSEJ) but now known as Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) and I was instrumental in the creation of the Somali Coalition for Freedom of Expression (SOCFEX) and founder of Somali Christian Development Network (SOCDEN), Co-founder of the African Federation of Environmental Journalists (AFEJ) but now know as AFIJ, the African Federation of Intercultural Journalists and also a founder of the World Federation of Environmental and Intercultural Journalists (WOFEJ). I’m well experienced journalist and preacher/ Pastor who has had the following training opportunities;

1. 19th–23rd February, 2007 Certificate of Training of Trainers cource (TOT) Training on HIV/AIDS Stigma and Discrimination Reduction, IEC Development and use. Hosted by Somali Redcross Society (SRCS) in collaboration with International Federation of Redcross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as well as South and Central AIDS Commision (SCAC).

2. 15th-16th July, 2008 Certificate of Peace Journalism Workshop which was held in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by a Somali newspaper called National Post and funded by U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.

3. November-December, 2008 Certificate of Training course on Ethics of Journalism and Modern Radio Reporting which was held in Nairobi, Kenya and hosted by Somali Coalition for Freedom of Expression (SOCFEX) and funded by International Media Support (IMS).

4. 22nd-26th June, 2009 Certificate of Training on an Inter-ethnic and Conflict which was held in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) in collaboration with UNESCO and Commonwealth Foundation.

5. Certificate of Pastorship Training of Trainers (TOT) by UNEP and UNDP

Education Experience: Five Honorable Certificates for Journalism, Peace building and Human rights programs and Certificate of High School and Bachelor Degree of Journalism and Mass Communication

I’m new preacher and works in Somalia as bishop representing God’s will and ministry through by the Gospel invasion ahead in across Somalia. I’m leading the Somalia Christian Development Network (SOCDEN) www.socden.org as coordinator just to register the current Gospel fellows and retrain them through SOCDEN initiative in cooperation with MICAH Global in which is our global affiliate and the African Pastors Fellowship (APF).

Volunteer Works

The United Religions Initiative (URI) county coordinator of Somalia from 2011-2018. And I’m one of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists Membership Committee since 2016. I’m also volunteer member of the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) Resources Development Committee


I’m a member of the International League of Conservation Writers (ILCW), African Network of Environmental Journalists (ANEJ), Pan African Agricultural Journalists (PAAJ), International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ),


I’m local and International Mult award winner journalist such as SOMESHA Green Journalism Award 2014 and the 2022 IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders in Agricultural Journalism Award.
